Unexpectedly the name 'Rails End' does not refer to the old Evesham/Tewkesbury
railway line nearby. 'Rails' is an old name for enclosure and Rails
End Nursery lies at the North end of the field 'Big Rails'.
Our family-run nursery was established in the late 1970's growing
a rotation of winter lettuce and summer tomatoes. A number of requests
from villagers to sell them bedding plants, originally produced
for our own garden, was the beginning of our interest in growing
an ever-increasing range of ornamental plants. We now successfully
grow and sell our plants by the thousand with Customers returning
year after year.

In the mid 1980's we were asked to fill a pair of hanging baskets
for a friend. These were the subject of much discussion and soon
we found ourselves developing arrangements of plants to suit all
types of location. This is an ever-increasing area of our business
with over 500 orders during the last year alone. In the past few years
some of our baskets have won prizes in nearby Tewkesbury, Pershore
and Alcester as part of the Britain in Bloom competitions.
